For my idea it's pretty simple. It's a crime detection app. This will let us know if any crime is happening around us presently but keeps the parties involved anonymous or ones that have happened in the past. This could be useful if someone is travelling to a new place and doesn't know anything about it. This will let them know if the area they are living in is safe or dangerous. This app should be run with police as they encounter all of the crimes at a certain place. Maybe it could be run by people but verifying the authenticity of crimes reported could be hard.

  1. This app reminds me of an app that was popular when a lot of the Black Lives Matter protests were active. The app is called Citizen and it's main purpose is for users to know where there are incidents around you. In the app store its description says that you can "get real-time safety alerts, live videos of incidents happening around you, updates on natural disasters or protests, and know if your loved ones are near a dangerous incident." Like its name implies, it relies on the people to provide accurate information and footage. I think your idea would be a great extension to this app to make it more reliable and keep a record of past incidents.

  2. The crime app would very useful for travelling to new areas and cities. There are some places I would love to go to but sometimes it can be a little dangerous. This app would also be good with visiting family members who want to take there own journey into the city, instead of waiting around for me to get out of work. I don't know if they will give that much footage though, they may need it for evidence. Good Post, I like your idea.

Blog Vs Wiki

Blogs and Wikis are two interesting tools that we use to communicate for our daily usage. Blogs tend to be more personalized and is often used as almost a modern day personal online diary. Blogs more or less represent a brand. A lot of companies also have blogs where they post information about something upcoming and or some promotion(Cook). A blog is like the soul of person but on the internet and visible to everyone. A wiki is more of an encyclopedia. It is a process of accumulating and maintaining information (Difference). It is a collaborative work between various groups of people. A wiki helps in collecting and sorting out information related to specific topic. It's like a never-ending cycle where you could go from one place to another on a wiki. In today's world convergence has become a important aspect especially in the social media world. Companies such as Facebook buying Instagram and Whatsapp shows how important it is for companies and people to know where the informa...

Blog: Social networking sites

I will comparing and sharing what I think about the following 4 social networking sites:  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. Facebook and Instagram are very similar. They are operated by the same company and have many of the same features. Facebook is a bit more dense in terms of content and not very phone friendly when you compare it to Instagram. Instagram was specifically developed for the phone and it can be seen from its layout. It is very user friendly and has a variety of features.  Snapchat was originally meant to be for showing a picture or a video for just for 24 hours and it disappears afterwords. Snapchat also has the feature of streaks which is sending your friend a photo/video every single day. In the past few years both Instagram and Facebook introduced their own version of snapchat stories which provides tough competition for Snapchat as they have to improvise and improve their product constantly. Snapchat also has the feature of letting someone know if...
