File Sharing is a sharing and transmitting of computer data in a network or internet with various access levels.(King). In simple terms file sharing is the process of sending data from one computer to another making it accessible for the other user at any time. It is basically information saved on a hard drive that can be accessed any time. P2P or also known as peer-to-peer sharing is utilizing peer-to-peer networking to share information across the internet. P2P sharing is more tricky as the process of sharing is not illegal but the content included can be troublesome for parties sharing it and for the parties accessing it. BitTorrent is an example of a P2P file sharing. "BitTorrent lets users quickly upload and download enormous amounts of data, files that are hundreds or thousands of times bigger than a single MP3. "(Thompson). BitTorrent is extremely famous for the fact it is one of the most famous websites for illegal sharing of movies and other videos. It is still successful as one of the most used P2P file sharing program for all the reasons. Napster was another example of P2P file sharing that was used for the purpose of sharing MP3 music. For my idea it's pretty simple. It's a crime detection app. This will let us know if any crime is happening around us presently but keeps the parties involved anonymous or ones that have happened in the past. This could be useful if someone is travelling to a new place and doesn't know anything about it. This will let them know if the area they are living in is safe or dangerous. This app should be run with police as they encounter all of the crimes at a certain place. Maybe it could be run by people but verifying the authenticity of crimes reported could be hard.
